Because it’s a non-working holiday today, I totally forgot that it’s Monday! It has been raining non-stop the whole day and it wasn’t really a good idea to get out.

While it’s Cyber Monday in the US, Filipinos flocked to the malls today for an early Christmas shopping. At least those who already got their end-of-the-month pay. It’s just the 29th after all.

Good thing I had no Monday blues today. It certainly felt like Sunday anyway and I did the laundry (despite the sun’s absence!) and some long-due cleaning up.

Hope everyone had a nice and restful long weekend! Tomorrow it’s back to the daily grind. ;)

While Americans were gearing up to shop on Black Friday, I was anxiously waiting for my medical clearance. It was like waiting for a verdict that could end your productive life. Good thing that my thyroid function tests resulted to normal levels. It’s good to find out that all those meds are working and that my body is responding well to it.

Tomorrow starts a new adventure for me. More like second shot at life, huh? I’m both excited and nervous!

Oo natapos din ang masalimuot na kalbaryong pangkalusugan, at nasa aking palad ang kapirasong pagtitibay na kaya ko pang magkaron ng magagawa sa kabila ng aking dinaramdam (nakalalasong bosyo!). He he.

Glory nonetheless.

Agonizing because…you are at the mercy of doctors and their ‘precious’ signatures. :(

And I’m telling you, it’s not a good feeling AT ALL!

In the last couple of days, I had to go through a battery of medical-related lab tests. While that is really necessary at the moment, I just hate it when you are at the mercy of nurses and med techs who treat your body as a tank of fluid samples whose faucet they can just turn on and off at will.I wish they’d allow you to take natural diuretics so they can have that 60 mL (or more!) of urine sample anytime they want, for example. But of course, everyone knows only water is allowed. Anyways, that was for my health and my own good. So I really shouldn’t be complaining. ;) He he.

That’s my current status, mode, whatever you call it.

Anxiously hoping for the big change that I know is gonna come.

Anxiously hoping for the little daily miracles that I know is gonna happen.

Anxiously hoping that I get a good night’s sleep tonight…

…because when you get too anxious like this, the butterflies in your stomach is not helping you sleep!

These days I am more tired than usual. It’s been almost 6 weeks now that my general housekeeper is away. He went 2 islands further down south to conduct general computer tech support, POS systems and surveillance projects. It’s really not the same without him, it’s like you lost your other hand.

Corny I know, but that’s just the truth of it.

Anyway…Raine’s Christmas vacation is just 36 days away. So that’s really something to look forward to. The daily grind of having to wake up too early just to accomplish a bit of work before Raine gets up at 6 am is draining the heck out of my not-so-healthy self.

By the time Raine gets up, then it’s another ball game. Once he’s out the door short before 7 am, I always need some more time to just breathe and re-compose myself before I can really do my own stuff.

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.

Take kindly to the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Just did some rearrangements around the house, to put some more semblance of order. For one, i moved the ugly dark green couch from the living room/bedroom area to the far end of the house - because all it did was play nest to ants and mosquitoes! The dark green color seems to be attracting those uninvited house ‘guests’.

Then I divided the bedroom area with some cellular shades (a.k.a. curtains) for privacy purposes. Now, people knocking at the door need not be ’shocked’ with the make-shift bed right away. Not only can I open the door a little wider now without baring the soul to the outside world… but hopefully with a few more re-organizing efforts, my cluttered head would become organized as well. ;)
