Watching Imortal on ABS-CBN was purely out curiosity. At first I thought it was a remake of the old Vilma Santos-Christopher De Leon movie entitled Imortal. ;) Gosh. Then only to find out the teleserye is about feuding wolves and vampires. You don’t have to be Twilight fan to realize how Twilight-y the plot is not even halfway into the first episode.

And like any other Pinoy plot, the story line is just so darn predictable! The first episode isn’t over yet but you already know how it’s going to end. Why is it always like that? Can’t the writers think of new twists and be creative for once? (I’m already in my late 30s and they’ve been at it since I was in grade school.) Or is it that unpredictable twists don’t sell to the masses? Most probably!

Either way, don’t blame me for being ‘unpatriotic’ because I get more satisfaction watching reruns of good old foreign films.

Recently…my days wouldn’t be complete without catching Simply KC. I know…I know…baka tumaas kilay nyo dyan! Well I can’t help it, natutuwa ako sa kanya. ;)

Anyways…I’m actually interested in buying her latest album. I think this song, Not Like The Movies (found via Snow’s blog) is included that album.

Now that American Idol season 9 is over, I just lost 2 opportunities to unwind each week. It feels weird not rushing home on Wednesdays and Thursdays starting next week. But then classes will soon start, so I’ll have more things to be busy about. I just have a huge need to unwind these days as I’m being swamped with more and more blog assignments.

But then maybe it’s good that I have once again more opportunities to earn in blogging so I can afford a real vacation with Raine this year. (A quick trip to Singapore is a lot cheaper than Branson vacations!) So you know which one I’m going to pick. Besides, we have this long-standing invitation to visit. I really hope we’ll be able to make it this year.

I can’t wait for the AI season 9 finale this week.

I’m hoping that Lee DeWyze wins as the new Idol!

Who’s your bet?

home entertainment29 Apr 2010 03:40 pm

So I have been watching the American Idol Season 9… and my top 3 bet for this year’s finale night are the following:

1. Lee DeWyze

American Idol Season 9: Lee DeWyze

What can I say? He’s got David Cook’s appeal but a toned-down version. The voice? Ohhh MY! Partida pa yan dahil napaka-tipid ngumiti ng lalaking ito. ;)

2. Crystal Bowersox

American Idol Season 9: Crystal Bowersox

This girl is truly amazing. She’s unique in her own way and has got a lot of depth, despite the piercing, the tattoos and the dreds. Her voice can go soul, gospel and everything else in between.

3. Michael Lynche

American Idol Season 9: Michael Lynche

Big Mike is such a lovable, kind guy and it shows every time.  For such a big tough-looking guy, he is the one always emotionally-connected to the songs he performs.

There goes my top 3 this season. I hope they all make it.

To the one who found me…this one’s for you:

You by the light
Is the greatest find
In a world full of wrong
You’re the thing that’s right

Finally made it through the lonely
To the other side

Chorus:
You said it again
My heart’s in motion
Every word feels like a shooting star
I’m at the edge of my emotions
Watchin’ the shadows burnin’ in the dark

And I-I-I’m in love (I’m in love)
And I-I-I’m terrified
For the first time
And the last time
In my only life, life

Our 7 year old TV at home is showing signs of ‘old age’. The color comes out as either too white or too red. Then the display isn’t properly aligned anymore (not centered).

But what can I expect? It’s just aiwa and got wet twice by typhoons.

Each morning when I go to city to work, I pass by this appliance store with plasma TV (on plasma mounts) in the display window. I can’t help but drool over their display and then later on be dismayed in shock once I see the price tag. Ha ha ha! Dream on Glo!

The good: The Proposal

Starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. I had a blast watching this movie. It is the ultimate feel-good romantic comedy movie of the year. Besides, it tackled the most abused visa in the United States — the fiancee’s visa.

The bad: The Ugly Truth

Starring Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler. This is probably the most boring movie of all time. I was falling asleep 10 minutes into it. Hmmm…make that 5. The only good thing I can probably say is that the very rugged Gerard Butler is something you would want to house in myrtle beach condos. ;) He he he.

It’s all Reynz’s fault.

Now I’m hooked to the song.

Ha ha ha!!

Dirty Dancing (1987)A few months ago, I bought a DVD of Dirty Dancing. I’ve been replaying it over and over again since then. Especially that final dance number at the end of the movie.

I will always remember Patrick Swayze as the hot, mesmerizing dancer and a guy so straight he only ever married one woman. A fact that is too rare in hollywood.

Anyways…when he is dancing, all jaws just drop and you fix your eyes and your heart to that very moment. You don’t want the dance to stop.

Keep dancing Patrick Swayze, wherever you will be. Rest in peace!
